It's rare for trekkers on any series to be confromted with a problem that couldn't be solved in 30 seconds using the transporter. That's one of the reasons I gave up on the franchise several series ago.
Some of the smarter writers (smarter, that is, than a rutabaga) made up excuses like "We can't transport him out because of strange minerals in the rocks above him!"
Most didn't bother.
I don't bother to watch.
