Never saw the movie but I used to watch the purple bastard years ago, when I was impressionable. I like what he stands for. After all, I only respond and don't beat heaven and hell out of those who have manners, but the fact is that it never tells about certian serious things like strangers, taking drugs, or what to do in emergencies aside from screaming "help" of "fire." Some told me that it would traumatize children if it did. Bullshit!! I've been in so many TRAUMATIC things and just telling kids what dangers there are in the world wount stunt them in anyway. Another thing is that if you really want leaders, especially great ones, with real drive you have to inspire them very young and Barney doesn't teach them to stand up for themselves. Imagination can take you only so far until reality strikes you down and Barney gives me the notion that it'll solve every problem. It won't all the time, living in la-la land has proven that to me all too well. Other than that everything should remain the same even if the songs suck, looking at his eyes makes me want to gouge them, and his purple ass makes me want to shove him in an industrial sized grinder.
