The Academy has denied a request by stunt performer to create a new Academy Award category this year for stunt performances. The Academy said they were looking at ways to reduce rather than increase the number of statuettes given out each year.
If I made my living jumping off of buildings or havings chairs broken over my head, I would probably feel entitled to some consideration for an Oscar. I think the stunt people got hosed.
