I use those as well with Firefox. RIP allows me to strip out all of the non-ad extraneous stuff at a website (like all of that blue space on each side of Cranky that makes every other post to line-wrap), and Noscript (ala Adblock) gives you a choice of which java scripts you can turn on or off (you gotta have js turned on for SOME of the sites you visit, no?)
Between the three, I improve load times up to 300% (guesstimate).
