I have been subjected to one of the songs via trips to stores during Xmas time. I used to assume he and Snow Miser were villains, but they aren't.
They made a live-action version in 2006, starring Michael McKean, Harvey Firestein and John Goodman as Santa (yes, the voice of Futurama's Santa).
