Each year, a man would have to pick which of his wives was his favorite ONE. He would then have to kill the others, cut out their hearts, and give the hearts to his favorite. She'd then use the hearts in a nice stew. A week later, the man was allowed to marry twenty more women to replace the ones he killed.
