Is by watching it in the company of a lot of kids. If the movie is any good, they'll shut up and be enthralled by it. If the movie's crap, they'll tear down the place and you can kiss your ticket-money bye-bye. Both 'The Empire Strikes Back' and 'Raiders of the Lost Ark' I watched as a 9/10 year old kid, one on my birthday.
THE LORD OF THE RINGS = Have watched it now three times and the last time was during matinee. A LOT of kids. So many that I worriedly asked someone my age if this really was LOTR, not 'Harry Potter'. But it really was LOTR. The kids LOVED it and because of that I appreciated it even more. There was just one dumb chick who didn't like it (sitting behind me) who kept on making 'smart', 'surprised' remarks, but after I told her to shut the fuck up she was a bit quieter (it wasn't a kid, some 16/17-year old I think).
