12/21/1998: Re: Deckard as Replicant

Deckard isn't the 6th replicant. the 6th is "seen" dying halfway through the movie. The scene where Roy is in the phone booth, and we see a fist clinching, turning white. Then Leon walks up and we go see the eye specialist. "I made your eyes" "if you could see what I have seen with your eyes." My twisted opinion? Deckard isn't a replicant. the unicorn represents empathy, the question of a soul. What does it mean to be human. And in the end, who shows compassion? Deckard hates himself, and his job, and struggles to find his humanity. But that all requires to much thought, And I really doubt Scott wanted us all to think that much. So, yeah, Deckard is a replicant. Olmos babysits him through half of the movie, his lack of empathy in the way he deals with Rachel, with the replicants. The way he keeps taking asswhuppin after asswhuppin and keeps coming back like the energizer bunny. Olmos knows about the unicorn dream, and thats all it is, a dream. who knows, Ridley sure as hell ain't talking
