Notes on 'Eyes have it'

"1.) His eyes. The replicants rarely blink and have eyes which glow weakly in the dark."

Deckard rarely seems to blink, and at the end, by the lift, his eyes have the same glow seen in the replicants.

"2.) All of the replicants are insensative to heat and cold. This is even true of the pleasure model Pris where such an adaptation serves no useful purpose. Deckard is shivering uncontrolable in the cold shop window after he kills Zora. "

Yes, but it appears not to be from cold. This is echoed by Roy's twitching as he descends in the lift. Glimmering of conscience?

There's a nice FAQ somewhere that discusses a lot of these points, including the missing 6th replicant, who was called Mary.

There was apparently also an alternative ending scripted, which ran something as follows: Deckard takes Rachel from the city by car, they stop way outside, where there is truly nothing, but dirty snow. There on a high hill, she looks around, looks back at the city, which is all the world there is. She turns to Deckard, all hope gone. He shoots her, and it ends with him looking down at her in the snow. The death of all hope.
