Everyone smokes in Blade Runner. But what are they smoking? Look closely at the image of the snake scale in the electron microscope. That's a mariquana bud boys and girs. They are all smoking pot. They are all STONED. Drugs are a part of all of Philip K. Dick's novels. See especially 'Thru a Scanner Darkly.' The movie is about the paranoid state induced by drugs. Get stoned and watch Blade Runner. Then it will all make sense.
