Besides this being one of the most kick-ass movies of all time, I'd like to point out that any idiosynchratic behavior perceived on the part of Mr. Cranky or anyone else is simply perhaps from their own experience(s). Equating Freudian or Oedipan complexes based upon selected scenes is simply coincidental - or is it? Besides a selected scene being completely and perversely interpreted, I noticed that these same topics seem to be concurrent in most of Mr. Cranky's opinions. Yet nothing was said regarding screenplay, direction, special effects, etc. The scene Crankrod describes is a mindjob, and only serves as a tangent - to propose the question: Is Deckard a replicant? Hello...?! It has nothing to do with "Freudism". Even the unicorn origami is clearly indicative from the book as a foreshadowing mindjob in order to make you think - replicants dream of unicorns. Wake up. In other words, this movie literally kicks! Always has. Always will. Subsequently, Crankshaft apparently doesn't know jack, and obviously didn't see the analagous paradox - am I a replicant? It deserves, no - commands - a solid top rating. Read the book, and watch the movie. The paradigm is in the perception, friends. Storyline and details are there, plot is there, direction is there, and I've yet to find even a minor flaw (although I imagine there might even be one...). I invite anyone who's a true movie buff to deny that Bladerunner is one the greatest flicks of all time - hands down. After viewing and then owning both the Director's cut and the release, I prefer the release version - for the narration is essential for "virgins". Nevertheless, the bottom line is:
Bladerunner is one of the best made films of all time. Enough said.
