I know and often agree with Mr Cranky's assessment of many films - they could always do better and most movies like in either imagination or orginality. But Blade Runner is an exception. The character development is unparalleled, the acting fantastic, the backdrop truly original. This film dared to be different. It trasncended standing notions of what it is to be human. The interplay between Decker and Batty in the final 15 mintues of the film is one of the greatest sequences pu ton film. Batty's Monologue at the end stands as one of the greatest moments in film history - a scene forever etched into millions of viewers minds- how can you forget. William Shaekspeare eat your heart out! Even the ending has it merits both original and directors cut.
On this one I have to differ with Mr Cranky, this is one of the best films of all time.
