Sorry Mule, but I believe that the point of the novel is that the main character ends up wondering if he *is* an android. As his dearest wish is to own that great status symbol, an electric sheep (real ones being v. rare), he wonders if "androids dream of electric sheep." As far as I can recall, in the novel the question is left unaswered, although in the Director's cut of the film, it's suggested that the blade runner is in fact an android himself. Yes, it probably is one of the best films ever, but of course no-reads Mr Cranky to hear that sort of stuff...
