04/05/07: Most Ambassadorships go to people who have no experience in diplomacy

Another pathetic example of American pay-to-play politics. Instead of forcing ambassadors to be highly trained professionals skilled in country and regional knowledge, we appoint campaign donors. We don't even consider the next best option, which would be election of ambassadors.
