11/05/00: Bigot-Boy, don’t take that dunce cap off until I tell you to

Ignoring the factual errors in your last post, your few comments provide a mine of examples for the study of grammar and logic.

Your verbosity jars with your atrocious grammar with vaudevillian effect (so much for your “style, metre and rhythm” – by the way, the term “metre” is associated with poetry, not prose, you ignoramus; are you going to suggest I am misquoting you again?). Try using the word “existing”, instead of “extant”, then you will not generate such chuckles.

“Sorry, you sad little anti-Semitic troll, but that don't [hard to tell when you are “dumbing down” your language, or whether you are just being dumb] play. Without the actual thread in question being extant, there is no way that anyone can comment on your sad, non-credible fantasies.”

Oh, but YOU can comment on your “alleged” remarks, since you ought to be able to remember whether you made them; conspicuously, you did not deny that you did make them. By the way, fantasies are, according to the Merriam-Webster C.D., “esp. unrealistic or improbable mental images in response to psychological need”. Therefore, it is debatable whether you need label my alleged fantasies as “non- credible”. Naturally, I am assuming that you mean “incredible”, as in, “it is incredible that someone could be so hopelessly grammatically challenged”.

“Then, once the thread is [incorrect use of tense] no more (and it really is -- unless it's cached somewhere that I can't find [it]) you jumped on [I think you mean “leapt at”, not “jumped on”] the opportunity to post something ‘responding’ to the thread in question, something that you had obviously been holding onto [holding onto what -- the opportunity?] for some time.”

As well as the clumsy grammar in the above sentence, your reasoning is once again at fault. It makes no sense to claim that the thread does not exist, and then with the same breath, as it where, say that it does exist if it is hidden from you; it is either extant (correct stylistic use to avoid repetition), or it is not.

Return to your corner with your back to the class.
