The Blair Witch Project (BWP) was the biggest piece of shit I have ever seen on the big screen. Of course I have never been to sundance or cannes and I tend not to go for foreign films. So that might explain why I have avoided movies this bad in the theaters before. I guess you shouldn't expect too much from a film with a $40,000 budget. But as Chris Rock commented, (not an exact quote) "Some motherfucka's walking around with $39,000 in his pocket." Now they want to make a sequel, which should be out by Halloween and a prequel which will be out by summer of 2001. But even though they are spending $7-10 million on each of these, I doubt they will be any better. They still can't afford decent writing, acting or directing on that kind of budget. And even if they did get good writers and actors who were willing to work cheap, they are still catering to an audience of morons. So I definitely am not going to watch these installments until they come out on tape. Then I will take them back to blockbuster and demand a refund. Actually, it will be kind of funny, in a sad sort of way, to see what they come up with. But I suspect it will be kind of like the Jason movies. The only reason its scary is because people don't carry around a bunch of big motherfucking guns and smoke Jason when he brings his little knife to the fight. The Blair Witch is undoubtedly some similar supernatural bogeyman, who can never be killed by normal means and always sneaks up behind you and kills you in slow motion as you trip over your own feet and flail about like a defenseless preschooler.
