I din't see the exorsist when it originally came out. I wasn't really all that impressed with it, but I can see how it would have been utterly horifying and shocking, not to say repugnant, for the era in which it was made. The Exorsist legitimately freeked people out and scared them, and has earned a respectable place in the annuls of film. Blair Witch scared some people, but annoyed the hell out of most. It was a totally over-rated piece of cow-dung. Only a few movies have been worse and received greater praise.
