"My idea is to make the government smaller, and to have major tax cuts"

Really? Gosh, we had no idea!

"Al Gore claimed that he wants "tax cuts," but what he really wants is to manipulate the tax code to tell people how to behave. With his supposed "tax cuts," there would be all sorts of strings attached. So what he labels as a "tax cut" is, in reality, bigger government control of people's lives."

Right, but isn't this the same thing that stores do when they have sales? "Hey, come in here and buy this product valued at ten dollars...we'll give it to you for four!" No one is forcing you to buy the company's product, just like no one is forcing you to get a lower tax rate...but they're making you do something (shop at their store) to get the lower price.

Frankly, I think there are too many tax loopholes too. And most of them are geared toward the rich, making the rich richer and the poor poorer.
