Mr. Cranky doesn't seem to be paying attention to the fact that this movie wasn't advertised as "God's own truth" of movies. It was a Scottish legend. You'd never the crank juicing up over Paul Bunyan or the Immaculate Conception (but I'm not *even* going there!), but display a film that has Mel Gibson in it, and it's time for Cranky to vent his spleen on us. Whatever happened to the icky rantings about Rob Roy, which was a lot more factual and a lot less enjoyable.
Catch the drift, cranky: it's a Scottish fable, not a newspaper story. -Jack
