I'm with Cranky in that I detest noisy, showy displays of public 'piety'. They more often than not conceal a self- serving hypocrite who'd buy and sell his own mother for a buck.

But, like Scumby,I don't see why being openly a creep makes you in some way 'better.' In some ways, it's even worse, because it contributes to normalisation of ugly attitudes, hence behaviour.

'If everybody else is doing it, why shouldn't I?' Too often, that's all anybody needs to do harm. Nazism normalised mass murder. Their rascist cant was not recognised as such because it was a norm.

We should be wary.
