Just a little fashionable bitterness there. I've long since learned to submerge my authentic voice until I find an appreciative audience. Years of using language in the service of commerce actually knocked some of the stylistic nonsense out of me and taught me that accessibility we've been discussing. If I had been writing for myself all those years, I doubt that I could have come to my present job - university magazine editorship - that allows me access to the audience.
Fate is strange.
