01/12/06: TMundo and wife screwed by immigration lawyer...

Posted by: TMundo

She didn't prepare us properly for the interview, and didn't finish filling out the forms. As far as I'm concerned she's fired. My wife has a new problem. She faces permenatnt disbarment for filing for political asylum years ago when she was married to her first husband. The asylum was obviously denied, but since she came back and forth since then, there is the possibility of permenant disbarrment, so says the IM officer. My lawyer says that's BS since the assylum was denied. I think the I'm was under the immpression that she left before it was denied and therefor put her in that category. I want a second opinion and have an appointment with a new lawyer in NYC. We are now filing another hardship waiver to get around the other disbarment which my lawyer also says isn't nessasary, but I still want a second opinion. She says they say stuff like that to get your goat. As we left the officer said, don't worry, we'll work this out. Maybe he was just trying to scare us incase we were lying. Next interview I believe a lawyer must accompany us to make sure everything's legit. I don't care what it costs.

TMundo asks for your prayers in this complicated situation.
