11/30/06: As the house shrink...

... here's what I have to say:

1) Yes, a lot of people with mental health disorders do seek control and order from others, since there own lives are very confusing or because they have dependent personalities, but there choices for who or where to seek that order from can be unusual and unpredictable.

2) Many people with certain serious mental health disorders are more gullible, due to a variety of cognitive deficits. This includes taking shortcuts with info, trying to find logic among thus which does not have logic but has been observed to correlate or be related in any way, paranoia, odd belief systems, and mixed-up messages.

3) I have found a strong, strong, strong correlation between becoming a born-again Christian and mental health disorders. Mood disorders in particular appear to be connected. There seems to be an indication of causality, judged by the tales of many I interviewed, e.g. "I had some problems in my life, the doctors said I was bipolar or something, but the meds did not work... Nothing did, until I found Jesus Christ, which is why I am now standing on a street corner at 3:00 AM yelling 'Fornicators!' at every passer-by".

4) Far too many conservative Christians have been duped into voting for the Republican party on the promise that Roe v Wade will be overturned by them.

5) I have met some crazies who have voted for Bush, but also many who are against him.

6) I have met many whackos who are conservatives, but they don't vote Republican. They choose some independent party, write-in a name, or don't vote.

7) I do not think that Bush Jr is generally viewed as an authority figure. Technically he is, yes, but his personality type is not very authoritarian. He definitely has the drinking buddy personality, which is how he comes across to most people.
