The movie itself wasn't that awful. Contrary to what you might think, it actullay takes some acting talent to pretend that you are stranded on an island with absolutely no one to talk to. I think that Tom Hanks pulled it off rather well, but that the movie lost steam and got way too preachy after he made it back.
