I can see where people thought that this was boring, but basically the way I seen it was that it was like a test for brilliant actors such as Hanks. Hanks is an awesome actor, undeniably one of the best in the business. There is very few actors that come to mind that could perform this and make it look believeable. A truely gifted actor can dominate a movie, especially a simple one like this where the audience is left with absolutely nothing to pay attention to except the actor's performance. This movie was so close to being a stage play. Hanks tackled an all- performance role with the audience literally staring at only him, and did it superbly.
