Another reason to drop "fat boy" was to see actually how effective the bomb was in practice.
I can understand there were plenty of reasons to bomb Hiroshima, but I don't understand (hence: I can't forgive) Nagasaki: I mean, the japanese had already been certified of the fact the US could annihilate them and Russia had just declared war.
