over 40% of the people on Welfare are minor children. By cutting off their parent's benefits, they will starve (unless you want to toss Junior a pick ax and send him into the coal mines again) When you exacerbate the situations of already hard-up kids, the chances will greatly improve that they'll end up being a drag on the system in adulthood: be it on Welfare or in prison.
I'm from Wisconsin: the Promised Land of Welfare Reformers. The W-2 program of our honorable and shitheaded governor Tommy Thompson HAS slashed the Welfare rolls, but no data is being recorded on what happens to the people who are off the dole. WHO CARES, THOSE BUMS ARE GONE!! Two side effects of this program are that private help organizations are being swamped, and Welfare receipiants who were working towards degrees in the UW system are no longer able to pay for tuition. (it's damn hard to pay for college on a minimimum wage gig) By cutting these people -who obviously WANT to get a job, as most welfare reciepiants do- off, you're ensuring that they will never rise above menial positions. But since most of those people are 'urban', John and Jane Q. Wisconsinite don't give a fuck.
Regarding the Indians, etc.: I feel the words choking in the back of my throat, but X-Man is right about one thing: there is an objective morality that cultures can be judged by. However, I don't think that ANY cultures from pre-history until now could pass that test of righteousness. Europeans and their American progeny have been evil shits, but Asian, Indian, and African cultures are not instantly sanctified by the evils of Europe.
