It's always terrifying to have someone you love sick, hurt or injured. Modern medicine is working miracles and this is a procedure that is done daily. I'm sure he'll be fine. My own mother had a lump removed when she was just 20 and for a while there was real fear that growths would spread. She was fine, but she still remembers how scary it was.
The best part is that I know you'll be there for him. I can't think of too many people I'd rather have on my team if I was in trouble!
