"Carnival of ignorance"! DAMN! He told us! It's nice to have him back again! That whole post was hilarious! Oh, Lord, how we've missed you!
But now that the butt-loving is over, it's time for business. I won't deny Tarantino's influence, but "Full Frontal" sucked and there have been far greater "escapist" films than "Ocean's 11," which is barely watchable a second time around. I wouldn't consider Soderbergh overrated, though. Other than "Full Frontal," I don't think he's made a truly bad film -- he just hasn't made a truly great film, either (although I wouldn't deny him his Best Director trophy considering what kind of year he had overall in 2000).
In Ridley Scott's defense, he did make "Gladiator" and "Black Hawk Down." And I guess he made "Blade Runner," too, though I've never gotten the popularity of that one...
