I think he's only overrated in Crankyland. Although last year's fanfare for "Mulholland Drive" was rather surprising, in general he's been largely ignored by critics and industry associations since "Elephant Man." And while we're talking about Davids, I have no idea what anybody sees in David Cronenberg. I really don't. He's just weird to be weird. And Wes Craven has practically done nothing other than "Nightmare on Elm Street" and "Scream" -- why the hell is his name so big?
As for Scott, Bickle, you said nothing about "Gladiator" (then again, I forgot to mention "Aliens" somehow in my last post...)
