"Resevoir Dogs" was a Hong Kong flick ("City On Fire") with Tarantino's contribution limited to two slightly funny monologues.
Not to mention, with the casts he's had, it'd be almost impossible for him not to make something worthwhile. Sure, Travolta's a fucker, but this is a guy who had Keitel, Roth, and Buscemi for his first film.
