My only though is on the basic premise - it's long been taught that the use of '40' in a biblical phrase (Noah - 40 days and 40 nights; Jesus - 40 day fast; Moses - 40 years wandering the desert) was ancient Hebrew idiom for 'one fuck of a long time' and was not meant to be taken literally.
