Christ, read the reviews at rottentomatoes.com. A few of them actually get that this movie is just direct-to-video cheese that somehow got a wide realease. MOST of them say something like "Spiderman 2 was better" or "It's nothing like the comic" or, my favorite, "The outfit is ugly." This all translates to "I wanted something meaningful." Idiots. IDIOTS!
I knew it was going to be horribly bad, and that's why I enjoyed myself. The more you cringe at a movie like this, the more it succeeds. So yeah, when Stone says "Game over!" and Berry says "It's overtime!" or something inane like that, it's 10/10.
I don't give a damn about the comic it's nowhere-near based on, nor do I care how much people like Spiderman 2. If you go into a movie like this with low expectations, you'll be much better off, and I for one got $4.50 worth. It's the equivalent of watching any given video with Shannon Tweed or Michael Ironside on a bigger screen with a much better sound system, and if you go in with that mindset, it's pretty entertaining.
And yes, the outfit IS ugly, but who cares? Spiderman's costume is pretty ugly to me, as are Superman's and Batman's getups. So are 95% of the outfits of random people in the mall. This means...what?
