This movie, THE CAVE does have a twist ending .
The seemingly villainous character,played by Cole Hauser fittingly, towards the end, is not the villain at all . Heis trying to save his firend even though they do not trust him anymore(especially after monster transformation has become obvious to them) . In the end he gives his life so that the others can escape .
The intelligent woman scientist(in Sci-Fi these days, they always are) she becomes the monster .
One difference though, how can Cole Hauser play the 'betrayer with a secret' if he does not have a British accent - that is usually the give away with these SCI-FI Melanie Griffith HORROR Melanie Griffith ACTION films . .
