Here at PSU, Criminogy isn't a major. The major is called "Administration Of Justice". I guess because it's supposed to sound more impressive or something. Also because it's less about actual criminolgy and more about law- making/enforcing and public policy issues. I took the intro class; it wasn't bad, and it was kinda cool having the high-ranking cop (now the District Magistrate) who was teaching it give me a good grade for a term paper that called for the legalization of prostitution.
Here, "Ciminology" is one lone Sociology course (Soc 012, I think). It was pretty good. One day the instructor brought in a pair of outlaw bikers (Pagans, maybe?) as guest speakers; the one told us a story about a friend of theirs performing cunnilingus on a doberman. I wish to God I was kidding.
