You have to stand up to do your business no matter what - they use "squat toilets" that are set into the floor. I had to use them a few times in China and South Korea. No problem if you're taking a whiz, but other functions can require balance and aim - which is probably a lot more info that any of you ever possibly needed. (sorry!)
