I use my real e-mail address, and have really thought nothing of it. Because of that, so far I've received e- mail from 3 Crankylanders. One of them is someone I enjoy chatting with and is a perfectly non-threatening, fun situation. Another person started e-mailing me recently, and I don't really know too much about him/her, and I believe he/she is a little cautious too, which is totally understandable. The third one was just a flake, and that correspondence ended pretty quickly.
But then the other day I got a couple of e-mails from someone who did not identify his Cranky persona, but it was obvious from the topic of the e-mail that that's where he saw my name. He asked some strange questions, said he wanted to be my friend. It kind of freaked me out. I e- mailed him back once and made it kind of curt, saying that he must be mistaken about who I was.
