She was one of my five predicted Best Actress nominees, although she doesn't have a chance at winning over Cate Blanchett.
The movie itself was also nominated for Best Foreign Language Film, and while it won the Golden Globe in that category, it's sure to lose to "Life is Beautiful," which was declared ineligible for Golden Globe nominations because of a technicality.
A surprise in the Best Foreign Language Film category: While Brazil's "Central Station" and Italy's "Life is Beautiful" got their expected nominations (along with Argentina's Golden Globe nominee "Tango" and Spain's longshot "The Grandfather"), the Netherlands' well-received dark comedy "The Celebration" was overlooked, perhaps to make room for Miramax's last-minute Iranian film "Children of Heaven."
