I'm not sure that I would want a new drug that proposes to handle the same thing as a headache tablet, for example, to escape testing. Did I misunderstand? What is a me-too drug? If we are talking different brand names for paracetemol then I agree, we only need to establish that the drug in the box is paracetemol. If we are talking the new headache drugs such as that contained in acti-profen (sorry can't remember exactly) proposed as "a better headache tablet" then I want testing. Rabbits first.
As for teddybear's sentiments, neither myself or Dr Empirical has whole heartedly embraced the death sentence. I myself am against it no matter what they did. The research I had in mind was *talking* to the nasties in an attempt to find out why, and there by have a hope of preventing future crazies. I feel that non-voluntary organ donation on the part of death row people, leaves the death sentence open to abuse, eg England hanging or exporting all its poor to the colonies about 200 years ago.
