OF COURSE SPIDERMAN'S GOING TO BE SUCKY!! It's overhyped and based on a comic book. You can't make a movie based on a comicbook/novel/videogame period. It is VERY difficult to transfer a story from one medium to another. The main problem is that movies are EXTREAMLY FINITE. You're only alloud to cram a LOOOONG story into 1 1/2 hours when it could take 5 hours to read the novel, DOZENS of issues to read a comic story, and DAYS to finish a videogame. The director has to edit out A LOT of information at the price of continuity and coherence. Then you have "actors" who have to play a person who in the case of comics and novels, is truly understood only by the author and not the screenwriters. In the case of a videogame character, those tend to be EXTREAMLY 2-D in terms of personality; they're only as good as the people playing the game and hardly ever say anything or display individual actions. Honestly I don't know what the proper solution is but I think when Spiderman comes out, ticket sales will plummet and comic sales will rise based on "Accept no substitutions".
