They wouldn't have any lobbyists at all, if the government didn't try to regulate them.

The more the government regulates them, the bigger their lobbying power will become, simply as a self defense mechanism.

"What's needed is someone (besides the Libertarians) to stand up for the First Amendment, and to say that it's better for people to choose what they and their kids should be able to watch/play/listen to/etc then it is for the government to decide those things."

Yes. But who else will say that?

The ACLU will say that. But then they will go and endorse Hillary for President anyway.
