Since Bush has taken office, the federal budget has gone up by 1/3. Bush hasn't vetoed any spending bills. He created a new program to pay for prescription drugs for old people. Spending by the Department of Education has increased by more than 60%. On these issues of spending, Bush and the Republicans in the House and Senate have gone very far to the political left.

The only times that the Democrats take a position from the political right, and the only times that the Republicans take a position from the political left, is when the position makes the government bigger. Bigger government is the only time that either major party adopts the views of the other major party.

So Democrats adopt the Republican position of censorship of sex.

And Republicans adopt the Democrat position of more government spending on social programs.

The only thing the two major parties have in common with each other is their love for bigger government.
