I think that most of the people who have been complaining about Chasing Amy's story have been looking in the wrong direction. The movie wasn't about profanity, or juvenile fantasies, or comic books. It was about loving someone but not being able to come to terms with his/her past.Holden couldn't handle that Alyssa was "more experienced" than he was. He was out his own life, and that insecurity eventually poisoned his relationship.The fact that she was a lesbian was mostly irrelevant.
