I went back and re-read your original post, but I still didn't find one reason why you didn't like this movie except "boring". Hate to bring the age thing into this, but Vietnam era is over, and if you still haven't recovered from it - go rent "Platoon" and enjoy yourself. To me it just seems like you're slightly out of touch with the times, hence you didn't understand "Chasing Amy" and it was boring to you. I am really sorry you feel this way.
As imperfect as this movie was, it was ORIGINAL, and I liked it just for that. There's so much garbage comming out of Hollywood these days.. all these Batmans and MIBs and other trash made for the lowest common denominator.. It's actally refreshing to see an original idea, sharp wit and good dialog. Once again, I am sorry you didn't understand this movie.
