Normally, Mr Cranky, you amuse and fascinate me, however, with your review of Chasing Amy, you have displayed your typically American inability to grasp true irony. The sheer concept of the "deep dicking" I find to be a joke upon heterosexual manhood in the context of this movie, and much of the other humour is an "in-joke"to the Smith fan, which I feel you have missed. While the gay/lesbian audience may find this a poor attempt at (familiarising/normalising/??) the lifestyle, as a heterosexual viewer, this film does have a lot to say about accepting an individual as *who they are*, as opposed to who they've done or whatever... So, be the outcome gay, straight, bi, or whatever, I feel that on top of the inarguable pleasure derived from gratuitious obscenity, this movie has "something to say" on many levels, and extends on both the form and content of Clerks and Mall Rats. In plain English, you're clueless and full of shit. So nerrrrrr
