I blame the corrupt Bush administration first, last and always. And it wasn't Democrats who said that the Iraq war could be paid for with its oil revenues -- wherever did you get *that* cockamamie idea?! Here's a brief compendium of administration estimates of just what this unnecessary bit of petroimperialism would cost and how it would be paid for:
