First a note to Ken and Tiamat. This post orrigonally started as a response to a mia wallace thread in the other forum about illegal aliens. But then I realised my thoughts had been muddled and I was refering to two diffrent posts. and it was mostly this topic I was refering to so I just quickly changed some stuff, moved it over and kept writing to save time. Forgot to remove the racial stuff etc. Anyways, my bad.
I'm not denying for a second that Saddam was a sadistic murderer. But that's not why Iraq was invaded. He's by far not the only megalomaniac dictator in power. The Unites States government ignores (or helps) most of them. Concider Islam* Karimov, the leader of what is currently called Uzbekistan. He is well known for gross human rights violations. Does the US government threaten to remove him from power or invade his country? No, just the oposite, they publicly fund his regime. Remember, Saddam Hussein was only in power in the first place because the US put him there.
The American government has a long history of meddling in the affairs of other countries for their own gain. On September 11*, 1973 the Chilean army, led by Pinochet, put an end to democracy in Chile. They were again, publicly funded by the American government. The democratically elected, President Allende was murdered. The new regime wich was set up and supported with US dollars is known as one of the worst of the 20th century.
So you see, that Saddam Hussein was a sadistic bastard has nothing to do with the war on Iraq. He posed absolutely no significant or direct threat to the US. Not only did he not have chemical, biological or nuclear weapons, even if he did have them he could not realistically have used them against the US. Iraq has never had ICBMs.
The fact was, the weapons inspections were going very well, Saddam was being watched very carefully by a number of countries and it looked like there might actually be a peacefull solution. But then the US wouln't be in control of Iraq like they wanted, so they invaded and have killed thousands of people.
Here's my point. The war on Iraq was waged under flase pretenses. Saddam's charecter was not why his country invaded. The "war on terror" is a lie, both for it's reasons of existing and the effect American government will produce. Anyone who thinks the way to get a people to not want to terrorise you is to invade their contry and kill innocent people is very gullible. The US government guilty of just as horrible acts as Saddam's government or just about any other hostile regime. And finally, these things along with everything else I mentioned is just the tip of the iceberg of evidence of the begining of the collapse of the American Civilization.
*horrid and or wonderfull irony. Take your pick.
