Why not a hilarious story about a large Jewish-German family in Berlin who are swept up by the Nazis and deported to Auschwitz? The show could be one of wacky humor, as the family outwits, at every turn, the dopey Kommandant (Mel Gibson?) and the stupid Adjutant (Ben Affleck, perhaps.) Hell, let's throw-in a treasonous German worker (Italo-German-American Leonardo DiCaprio) who helps the family at every turn!
If "Hogan's Heroes" -probably the most bizarre excuse for a wartime comedy ever made- could be a runaway success, then there is no reason that this idea would not work! But the script would havve to be in good taste (whatever that means.)
