Not sure exactly what you're meaning by dark... but If Im getting you right, might I reccommend a childrens Anime known as Princess Mononoke - beautiful yet quite dark for a kiddie flick. Disney bought the rights to the film from the Japanese Studio Ghibli, and spent a great deal of money and time dubbing it into English, hiring a few hollywood actors so as to make the thing not completely alien to its primarily American audience (perhaps a bad move...) But then tradgedy strikes as Disney gets bored of the idea and casts the film into its deepest darkest archives, probably never to resurface, in spite of the film company recieving hate mail and letter bombs from practically every anime lover on the planet. And thus ends the tragic tale of Princess Mononoke and the evil money grubbing corporation. Down with Disney!
