05/19/97: Pretty good movie

Posted By: Wolfie

I enjoyed it, although I felt a bit sorry for Judy Davis throughout, being so duped by Stalinism (it's still hard to believe that millions fell for it in real life -- good thing we have movies like this to remind us). She did a good job as she always does. It was funny, although I don't know what you're talking about when you mention To Die For. The one thing that bothered me was that she was attracted to Stalin at his creepiest. I don't know what amount of political devotion could've made me sleep with him. Yuck. Power is not always an aphrodisiac.
